Recommended books for N2!

こんにちは!Since some of my students are aiming for the JLPT N2 this year, I wanted to share a few workbooks I highly recommend to help you prepare more effectively!

There are so many JLPT prep books out there… but many of them don’t explain the answers, which means you’ll have to spend a lot of time trying to figure out what went wrong. 😓 That’s frustrating and inefficient, right?

So when I choose a workbook, I always make sure it includes clear and detailed commentaries—especially for vocabulary and grammar. Having explanations makes a huge difference in your learning speed and understanding.

The books I’m recommending today include commentaries in multiple languages like English, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Russian, which is super helpful!

All-in-One N2 Practice Book

If you're looking for a book that covers all sections of the test—vocabulary, grammar, reading, and listening—this is a great place to start!

It includes QR codes for explanations in English, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Russian, so you can easily check them on your phone or tablet. (Way better than flipping back and forth in the same book for every answer, right?)

Real JLPT Format Practice Test

This one is from the same series as the first book, but it follows the exact format of the actual JLPT. It's perfect for the final few months of study, when you want to simulate the real exam experience and bring everything together.

It also includes English explanations to help you review efficiently.

Focused Practice: Reading Strategy

If you want to boost your reading skills, this book is for you. Unlike many others, it actually teaches you how to approach reading questions, not just what kind of questions to expect.

It also includes English definitions for tricky vocabulary in the answer section, so you don’t need to waste time looking things up in a dictionary. Super efficient and learner-friendly!
